  1. I would like to commend Dr. Breggin for speaking out and writing about the misuse and overuse of pharmaceutical drugs. My son was put on anti-psychotics, after having a psychotic break and eventually being diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder, which never worked for him and made all his symptoms worse. Every change made him worse and eventually he was driven to suicide, after only 4 months. . We have been devistated ever since. I know the change in his anti-depressant sent him over the edge. I still relive his final week and it makes me angry that these doctors continue to prescribe these drugs without ever doing any other tests or assesmants to find a real cause for the onset of the psychosis. It is wrong. If it were cancer or some other diesease, they would be doing lots of tests. We were going to get him other types of help because we didn’t like the severe side effects our son was experiencing, but we never had the opportunity. It all happened fast and unexpectedly and I do blame the medications, the Doctor and the way the doctor switched his meds. That too was done improperly, according to research I did, and possibly what drove our son to suicide. I wish I had seen these interviews before my son died. Much of what Dr. Breggin said I can relate to. Thank you for speaking out.

    1. Gloria,

I apologize for not having seen your comment sooner.

Thank you for sharing your son’s experience, it is so helpful for others to know. If you would like me to forward your comment to Dr. Breggin I will do so.

      Kind Regards,
      Maria Mangicaro
